Halloween Striped Nail Art Tutorial

Spooky season is just around the corner so I thought it was about time my nails took a halloween twist. I used a combination of orange, purple and bright green to create a spellbinding design.

Halloween Striped Nail Art

What will you need?

To create this look you will need shimmer/glitter polishes in green, purple and orange. You will also need a deep purple polish for the base of the nails and some striping tape.
The shades I used were Illamasqua 'Marquise', 'Omen' & 'Seance' and Avon Magic Effects Matte in 'Violetta'.

Step-By-Step Tutorial:

Step 1: Begin by painting your nails in a deep purple polish. I used a matte polish here as the drying time is so much quicker.

Step 2: Once the base polish is dry, take some striping tape and place this in diagonal stripes across the nail, spacing evenly.

Step 3: Fill in the gaps between the tape with the glitter polishes.

If you want to add a topcoat you can, but I loved how the textured glitters gave the nail art more of a halloween feel.

Mosaic Nail Art Tutorial

Today I have a mosaic effect nail art tutorial for you, mixing both glossy and glitter polished to create a textured look. I have created a step by step pictorial for this look, so if you want to find out how I created this look then keep on reading...

Mosaic Nail Art Tutorial

What will you need?

To create this look you will need a white, red, berry and grey polish, along with orange and turquoise glitter varnishes and some striping tape.
The polishes I used were Avon 'Matte White', Illamasqua 'Throb', 'Facet' & 'Maquise', Leighton Denny 'Purple Reign' and Avon Magic Effects Mineral Crush in 'Turquoise'.

Step-By-Step Tutorial:

Step 1: Paint all nails in a base of white and leave to dry completely. I used a matte polish as these dry super quick.

Step 2: Place 3-4 pieces striping tape randomly over each nail to create a mosaic design.

Step 3: Take each polish in turn and fill in the gaps between the tape. Peel off the tape to reveal the design.

If you want to add a top coat feel free, however I liked the textured finish without.

Autumn Glitter Zig Zag Nail Art Tutorial

Today I created a nail art design fit for autumn, which would also be fab for a glamorous halloween nail look.

Autumn Glitter Zig Zag Nail Art Tutorial

To create this look I used a purple plum polish and 3 glitter varnishes in champagne, purple and multi-colour shades. The polishes I used were Avon Stardust nail enamel in 'Polished' & 'Crystalized Pink' and Models Own 'Ibiza Mix'.
I also used Glam My Mani nail vinyls to create this design.

Glam My Mani Nail Vinyls

Step 1: Begin by painting all the nails in a base of the purple plum polish and leave to dry completely.

Step 2: Next take the nail vinyls and place these onto the nail, spacing evenly.

Step 3: Taking the glitter polishes, fill in each gap and peel off the vinyls to reveal the design..

Step 4: Paint a layer of top coat onto each nail when everything is dry.

And there you have a glitter zig zag nail art perfect for autumn.

Although the step zig zag in the centre of the nail/stickers didn't come out quite like I hoped (partly because I chose the wrong glitter polish to place here) I am quite happy with the outcome of this design.
