Colour Club Halo Hues Holographic Nail Varnish Swatches

My twin sister purchased these holographic colour club polishes from the 'Halo Hues' collection the other day and kindly let me swatch them to show you guys. I am slightly obsessed with anything holographic at the moment, takes me back to my childhood with the days of the spice girls and jelly shoes (90’s girl memories)! Colour club offer a fab range of shades and these are just three of the holographic shades: ‘Cloud Nine’, ‘Harp On It’ and ‘Cherubic’. Keep reading to find out my favourite of the three and some up close swatches…

'Cloud Nine':

'Cloud Nine' is definitely my favourite shade of the three. I would describe it as fuchsia shade (a mix of pink and purple) with an amazing rainbow holographic finish. I painted two coats of this shade to create an opaque base and I found two coats helped the holographic glitter shine even more. These nail varnishes are also surprisingly easy to remove. I was expecting the removal to be similar to a glitter polish however it is non-comparable, a few swipes with nail varnish remover was enough to remove the polish completely.

'Harp On It':

Next up is 'Harp On It' and I would describe this shade as a classic holographic silver. I also loved this shade and again applied two coats to create an opaque, even base on my nails.

'Cherubic':

Last, but definitely not least is 'Cherubic'. This is a gold polish and the holographic finish gives it a slight rose gold feel. Again I added two coats and I love how this polish can be warn as a neutral/nude-ish shade with a holographic twist when it catches the light.

To take a look at the Halo Hues collection from Colour Club head over to their website and to get your hands on some in the UK my sister picked them up from this eBay seller for just over £8 each.

Which shade do you like the look of? Have you tried any other holographic polishes?

Neon & Glitter Chevron Nail Art

I am back with another bright nail art look and today I went for a chevron design using some neon and glitter polishes. If you want to find out how I created this look then keep on reading...

Neon & Glitter Chevron Nail Art

Glitter Chevron Nail Art

All you will need for this look is 3 coloured polishes of your choice, 3 glitter polishes, a top coat and some chevron nail stickers to make the job a whole lot easier!
The polishes I used were the Models Own 'Polish for Tans' collection in the shades 'Sun Hat' (neon pink), 'Beach Bag' (neon orange) and 'Shades' (neon coral) and the glitter polishes are from the Illamasqua 'Galmore' collection in the shades 'Trilliant' (champagne glitter), 'Fire Rose' (pink glitter) and 'Marquise' (orange glitter). The chevron stickers I used were the NailVinyl 'Chevron Minis'.

Step-By-Step Tutorial:

Chevron Nail Art step-by-step tutorial

Step 1: Begin by taking your neon shades and applying a different polish to each nail. Leave these to dry completely before moving on.

Step 2: Taking the chevron stickers, place two onto each nail, spacing evenly.

Step 3: Grab your glitter polishes and paint over the entire nail, switching up the shades as you wish. Remove the stickers straight after painting the glitter coat to reveal your chevron design.

Step 4: Finally once everything is dry, go in with a top coat to even out the nails and add some shine!

And there you have your bright a glittery chevron mani!

Cocktail Ombré Nail Art

I was feeling bright and colourful when I created this nail art so I went for a neon ombre which reminds me of a summer cocktail!

Cocktail Ombré Nail Art

All you will need for this look is a white, yellow, orange and pink polish, as well as a small makeup sponge. The shades I used were Models Own 'Coconut Cream' on the base to brighten up the colours and Graffiti Nails 'Mellow', Illamasqua 'Gamma' and Models Own 'Sophie's Pink'.

Ombré Nail Art

Step 1: Begin by painting the base of your nails in a white polish and leave this to dry completely. By doing this it will really help to brighten up the ombré shades.

Step 2: Stripe the 3 shades onto a small makeup sponge and press this onto the nail, dabbing the sponge up and down to create a seamless ombré design.

Step 3: Once everything is dry, go in with a top coat to even out the nails and give them some shine.

And there you have your cocktail ombré manicure!
