Liquorice Allsorts Nail Art

This week I have another nail art for you all. This one is based on the Liquorice Allsorts sweets! It's quite a tricky one so if you have plenty of time and want to try something slightly challenging why not give it a go!

What will you need?

In order to create this nail art you will need nail varnish in black, white, light pink, dark pink, light blue, bright blue, yellow and a top coat. You will also need a dotting tool and a small sponge. I used the following nail varnishes: Miss Sporty 'Black', Barry M 'Matt White', Seventeen 'Miami', Rimmel 'Cranberry Zest', No7 'Minty Fresh', Illamasqua 'Cameo' and Miss Sporty 'Yellow'. 

Step-by-Step Guide:

Step 1: Paint all nails in a base of black. I painted two coats of black varnish onto my nails to make the base more opaque.

Step 2: Using the light pink and a dotting tool place circles randomly over the nails.

Step 3: Again using the dotting tool and this time yellow nail varnish place circles randomly over the nail.

Step 4: Taking the bright blue nail varnish and the dotting tool, again randomly place circles over the nails.

Step 5: Using the dotting tool once more and the white nail varnish, apply squares/rectangles over the nails in any available spaces.

Step 6: This time take the dark pink and place circles into any space left on the nails. I only placed this colour onto some nails as I didn't want to make them look overcrowded.

Step 7: Taking the black again and the dotting tool, put circles into the centre of the yellow and light pink circles and place a stripe into the centre of the white squares/rectangles.

Step 8: Using the sponge, take the light blue and light pink nail varnish and sponge these over the bright blue and dark pink circles.

Step 9: The final step to this nail art is to paint a top coat over all nails once they are dry. This will prevent chipping and even out the nails where the design has been applied.

Colourful Name Nails

Hi Everyone, this week I am back with another nail art look. This is one of my favourite nail art's I have done for a long time as I think they're really fun and colourful! If you want to find out how I achieved these name nails keep reading!

So to begin with, what will you need in order to create this look?

You will need nail varnish in yellow, baby pink, coral, mint, dark pink, orange and a top coat. You will also need a sponge and some letter nail transfers. I was lucky enough to be given the the new Nails Inc. Monogram Manicure set from a friend so this is what I used to personalise my nails. The nail varnishes I used were Illamasqua Rare, Rimmel Ring O' Roses, Barry M Passion Fruit, Barry M Greenberry, Rimmel Cranbury Zest and Barry M Peach Melba. 

Step-by-Step Guide:

Step 1: To begin with I painted all my nails in a base coat of Rimmel Ring O' Roses.

Step 2: Once the base coat was dry, I took the sponge and Barry M Passion Fruit and sponged this onto one of the top corners of each nail.

Step 3: Next I took Illamasqua Rare and sponged this onto the other top corner of each nail.

Step 4: Using Barry M Greenberry and the sponge again I added this to one bottom corner of each nail.

Step 5: Taking Rimmel Cranberry Zest and the sponge I sponged this onto the bare bottom corner of each nail.

Step 6: The final colour I sponged was Barry M Peach Melba and I sponged this onto the middle of each nail.

Step 7: Once all of the colours were dry on the nail I took the Nails Inc Monogram Manicure tranfers and added one letter onto each nail to spell out my name. 

Step 8: In order to keep all the transfers in place and prevent chipping I added a coat of top coat over each nail.

High Street Make-up Must Haves

In this post I thought I would share with you the high street make-up pieces which are staples in my everyday make-up routine. 

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer:
This concealer has been a staple in my make-up bag for a long long time! I love how creamy it is and this makes it so easy to blend. I always apply this with the applicator under my eyes and around the nose area, as well as any where I have a blemish and blend it in to my foundation using my ring finger.

Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil:
This product is a recent purchase of mine and I don't know what I did without it! Before having this I used a matte eyeshadow to fill in my brows but this pencil has made it so easy to make my brows look neat and get the desired shape with very little effort. I have this shade 002 Hazel and I find this to be the best colour to compliment my blonde hair. 

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder:
I saw many beauty bloggers rave about this powder for a long time so I picked it up for myself and I can honestly see what all the fuss is about! It helps keep my make-up base in place all day in the office and it doesn't leave my skin looking chalky which many other powders do!

Bourjois Bronzing Powder:
This is another product I saw on beauty blogs over and over again before I made the purchase. I love the way this product applies to the skin, giving you a smooth matte contour with no heavy patches which I have found some other bronzers to give. Another bonus of this product is the smell, it really does have a chocolatey scent to it! 

Maybelline Gel Eyeliner:
You may have seen my previous post a few months ago on this product. I honestly LOVE this gel eyeliner. I had never previously used a gel eyeliner before this purchase and always found my eyeliner to crease a smudge. However since using this my eyeliner never moves and I have found myself using this product in my eye make-up day after day!

Real Techniques Brushes:
I have also done a post on my love for these brushes before and therefore my love for them definitely has not died! I love they way they help me apply my make-up with ease and they will not be disappearing from my daily make-up routine for a long long time! The added bonus is they are made by the amazing Samantha Chapman from Pixiwoo! Check out my previous post to see which brush I use for what.

Summer Floral Nail Art

With Summer unfortunately coming to end, I thought this was the perfect opportunity to squeeze in one more summer floral nail art! I have put together a step-by-step guide of how to achieve the nail art below, so if you want to find out how to create it yourself keep reading...

What will you need?

In order to create this nail art yourself, you will need nail varnishes in fuchsia, blue, dark coral, white, a lighter coral and a top coat. You will also need a nail art dotting tool, however if you don't have one of these to hand you could use a tooth pick or a hair grip! I used Illamasqua Harem and Cameo, BarryM Matt White and Passion Fruit and Collection Fruit Salad. 

Step-by-Step Guide:

Step 1: To begin paint the nails in white to create the base. I painted two coats onto my nails in order to ensure the base was opaque, to ensure the flowers stood out as much as possible on top.

Step 2: After the base coats had dried I took the dark coral nail varnish (BarryM Passion Fruit) and using the dotting tool I drew a large flower onto each nail.

Step 3: Next I took the blue nail varnish (Illamasqua Cameo) and added 5 dots in a circle using the dotting tool to create the small blue flower. 

Step 4: Next using the fuchsia nail varnish (Illamasqua Harem - one of my fav colours at the moment!) and the dotting tool I places lines in a circular shape to create a slightly different style flower.

Step 5: The last flower I created was using the lighter coral shade (Collection Fruit Salad) and the dotting tool again. I drew slightly larger circles this time to create a larger flower similar to the style of the blue flowers. 

Step 6: The next step is placing different colours in the centre of each flower to complete the look.

Step 7: Finally once all the flowers are dry, I painted over the top in a top coat. This will prevent any chipping and more shine to the nails.

Step 8: AND Voila! The nail art is complete.
